APFD Explorer Post is a fire and community service organization. The Post is sponsored by Averill Park Fire Dept, and works closely with APFD members in gaining knowledge for emergency situations and for professional development. Explorers participate in APFD drills twice a month, and also hold their own drills. Explorer Post 911 is open to all residents of Rensselaer County, age 14-20.
